United Kingdom Track and Field All-Time Lists

IAAF WORLD RACE WALKING CUP

The men's competition (Lugano Trophy) was first held in 1961. A women's competition (Eschborn Cup) was introduced in 1979, although an unofficial women's match was first held in 1975. Up to 1985 a semi-final round was held, however since then the event has been held as a straight final. An official separate team competition for the two men's distances was introduced in 1993 and the men's overall competition discontinued after 1997. From 1999 team scores were calculated by aggregating the positions of the first 3 finishers from a maximum of 5 competitors. Prior to this date team scores were calculated by aggregating the points (based on position in race) awarded to the first 3 finishers. Junior events were first held in 2004 with team scores calculated by aggregating the positions of the first 2 finishers from a maximum of 3 competitors.

Venues: 1961 Lugano (SUI), 1963 Varese (ITA), 1965 Pescara (ITA), 1967 Bad Saarow (GDR), 1970 Eschborn (FRG), 1973 Lugano (SUI), 1975 Grand-Quevilly (FRA), 1977 Milton Keynes (GBR), 1979 Eschborn (FRG), 1981 Valencia (ESP), 1983 Bergen (NOR), 1985 St. John's/Isle of Man (GBR), 1987 New York (USA), 1989 L'Hospitalet (ESP), 1991 San Jose (USA), 1993 Monterrey (MEX), 1995 Beijing (CHN), 1997 Podebrady (CZE), 1999 Mézidon-Canon (FRA), 2002 Turin (ITA), 2004 Naumburg (GER), 2006 La Coruña (ESP)
